Homework will be assigned nightly. Homework will not be assigned on weekends.
Daily Homework:
1. Math:
workbook page (due the next school day)
**If there is no workbook page assigned, please practice math facts for 5-10 minutes (addition/subtraction)
2. Spelling:
Spelling Tic Tac Toe Grid (due Fridays)- Choose 3 activities from the Tic Tac Toe choices to practice the weekly spelling words. You may get creative and practice your spelling words in any way that helps you learn them. If you choose to practice in ways other than what is listed, please write that on your sheet somewhere. You DO NOT need to turn in the spelling practice sheets. You only need to turn in the signed Tic Tac Toe sheet for homework credit.
3. Reading:
Read 90 minutes/week. Spread the minutes out throughout the week. Try 15-20 minutes a night. (**NO reading log)
Below I have listed ideas for spelling and math practice. These are only ideas, if you and your child come up with other ways to practice spelling and math that is great!
Spelling Practice Ideas:
Write the spelling words using:
- dry-erase boards
- chalk
- markers
- crayons
- paint
- WikkiSticks
- colored pencils
- gel pens
Other ways to practice:
- letter stamps
- write silly sentences using the words
- write a story using the words
- trace letters to make each words
- cut letters out of a magazine to spell each word
- paint with water on the driveway
- use shaving cream to write each word
